Keep doing it! ?

A new study found that raw or blended spinach contains higher lutein levels than fried or boiled one. Lutein is a powerful antioxidant that is linked to healthier cholesterol level (better heart health) and improved eye health. Mixing blended spinach with dairy fat is believed to release even more lutein from the leaves.

I got this smoothie recipe from the newest Ideafit Fitness Journal. It’s a great breakfast option.

Orange – Spinach Smoothie:
¾ cup milk
½ cup baby spinach
2T hemp seeds ( hemp hearts)
1 t honey
1 t lime zest
1 medium orange
1 C ice cubes

Place all of the ingredients in a blender container in the order listed and blend until smooth.
