My go-to dish for the week is the Green Goodness Grain Bowl. I didn’t want to spend too much time in the kitchen and used frozen peas, asparagus and the pre-cooked rice medley with brown rice, red rice and black barley from Trader Joe’s. I mixed the rice medley with store bought pesto, sautéed a piece of frozen salmon and added sprouts to give it more crunchiness.

I like to use fresh vegetables because of the better texture, but frozen ones usually contain more nutrients because they are flash frozen directly after harvesting.  Nutrients in fruits and veggies start to break down after harvest and once in the store they even get more depleted with heat, light and oxygen.

I always suggest to eat fresh from a good source, but if you are in a rush please go to the frozen food section. Getting your veggies in has never been easier. ?
