Elevate your legs more often!
Staying active is essential for a healthy lifestyle, but relaxing and elevating your legs can improve the health of your veins and circulation.
That’s especially important after a long workday of sitting or standing because:
– Sitting for an extended time can cause blood to pool in the legs instead of moving back toward the heart.
– Standing still for an extended time increases the risk of developing varicose veins and spider veins.
It also helps to soothe swollen feet, stretch the hamstrings and back, and promotes relaxation.
Make it a habit after a long day being on your feet.
How to do it:
Either slide your legs up the wall like I do, or put your legs on a chair or table with a pillow underneath your legs.
